Principal’s Message – June 2012

June 1, 2012

We are heading into the final month of school for this year! We all began in the fall with hopes and expectations and now is a time to finish well and celebrate the successes and the growth that has happened in the academic and personal lives of your children.

Final assignments, projects, and exams are coming up and it is wise to push hard through these things rather than coasting through them. I encourage you to set up some routines that prioritize, in the eyes of your child, the importance of these final weeks. Teachers will be pushing hard to complete curriculum and prepare for exams. Don’t let up yet even though the weather may be pushing you that way.

We have some events at this time of the year where we celebrate student success: the Athletic Celebration Night, the Academy & Leadership Awards assembly, Grade 9 Celebration, Fine Arts Gala Evening, and Grade 12 Graduation.

I encourage you to spend some time with your child to get them to work hard this month and then to celebrate with them for work well done. Each student needs some blessing or some encouragement or some affirmation for the growth they have shown during the year, and the end of the year is an ideal time to show it. Blessings on your family as you reflect on the accomplishments of the year and celebrate together!

Please continue to visit our new website and read the postings on our blog to keep up with the end of the year – and beginning of next year – happenings.
