Principal’s Message – Sept. 2011

September 1, 2011

To the entire Master’s College community,

Another school year is upon us, and I would like to welcome your family to all that this year has to offer and trust that this year can be a year that is filled with academic challenge, spiritual growth, social maturity, and personal vision for each child in your family.  We pledge as a school to work with you, and to do all we can to instill future readiness, creativity and innovation within each student as we follow up on our Master’s 2014 vision.

Our College theme this year of ‘ALIVE’ challenges all of us to live our lives to our fullest potential and to make a contribution to the world that lives far past our own lifetime.

Our theme verse for the year of John 10:10 where Jesus says “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” will challenge our students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who lived fully as man and as God.
We welcomed about 25 new students to the first day of school, which included a rotation through classes as well as plenty of catching up with friends over a complimentary BBQ lunch, a College-wide game, some ice cream – and a dunk tank! We are all off to our annual overnight ‘camp’ time together in early September and then we are back to earnest academic pursuit.  This year we add our College I.D. (Innovation and Design) School, some AP courses, Mandarin, a rotating schedule, and some Early Dismissal Fridays so teachers can spend afternoons in research and development. We will begin the year with an Athletic Kickoff Dessert Night on September 13, a Parent Workshop on technology tips and computer use on September 14 (and other Parent Education sessions throughout the year), and a Spiritual Life Week on October 3-5.  Many other opportunities for parents and students will follow – watch for this newsletter each month and our Weekly Events email on Fridays.

I encourage you to contact myself, Jeanette Schroeder, or Rachel Primeau in our College Office with any questions. Our Parent Council is always willing to help you and you are encouraged to attend monthly Principal Chats. Our teaching staff is always available for a meeting, a quick chat before or after school, or to answer an email.

We look forward to a wonderful year! May the Lord bless your family deeply and personally.

Peter Muller
